Mental Health First Aid Courses

An initiative by the Ministry for Health in collaboration with the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government

The Ministry for Health  in collaboration with the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government has launched a nationwide project to equip individuals with Mental Health First Aid through all local councils in Malta and Gozo.

This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with Richmond Foundation.

No course fees

The full cost of the course is covered by the Ministry for Health. Therefore, participants are not required to pay any course fees when enrolling through this initiative.

About Mental Health First Aid

Standard MHFA
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to support and assist friends, relatives, students or colleagues facing mental health problems.

The course will equip you with the updated knowledge, skills and abilities appropriate to provide the necessary assistance and guidance to support people facing mental health problems. The ultimate aim of Mental Health First Aiders is to help the person seek professional help.

Accredited MHFA version
An accredited version of the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course is also available. The course is accredited as Level 3 Award. The accredited MHFA course includes an online assessment. Certification is provided.
